Hello! Welcome to NeuroLocker!
We are so glad that you have found us and cannot wait to get to know you!
Before we tell you about NeuroLocker, we want to take a moment to introduce ourselves to you.
I think it is important for you to get to know us and our family as we embark on this journey together.
My name is Jill. I am the mother of 3 amazing, and amazingly different children – each with their own “features”. Some were diagnosed early on, and some were diagnosed later in life because they were masked by other symptoms, or they were able to hide them from me until they couldn’t. We live in a constant pool of emotions, learning differences, and “features” that can create hardship and challenges for the kids as well as for my husband and me. Luckily, we also deal with these challenges ourselves, so we understand. I have ADHD.
My husband, Michael, is amazing. He is a mechanical genius. He can build just about anything. He is always thinking about things that would be useful and then figuring out how to make them. He is a very active and hands-on kind of guy and would absolutely shrivel up in a “sit behind the computer” kind of job. He hates to read, unless it is something that he can learn…so he actually reads quite a bit – LOL. He is totally into Ham radios in his spare time. He has ADHD.
My oldest is Sophea, she is 20 and is the other half of NeuroLocker, and I am so excited to be on this journey with her! Soph is on track to graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington in December of 2025. She is working on a double major in Business and Marketing and has decided to also get her Entrepreneurship degree. She is smart, kind, snarky, and fun. She deals with OCPD – obsessive compulsive perfection disorder. Based upon the challenges that she saw Gabe having in middle and then high school, she is the one who felt there was a need and inspired both companies that we are starting together (NeuroLocker – the for-profit, and NeuroCanvas – the non-profit).
My middle child is Gabriel, he is 18 and just graduated from high school where he participated in an early college program where he not only graduated from High School, but also got his Associates of Applied Science and an HVAC certification. He is looking at starting a welding program in the fall. Gabe is off the charts ADHD, ASD, has dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. Gabe’s ADHD masked all his other challenges, and it wasn’t until middle school that we identified them. As you can imagine, this made for a very challenging childhood, and an even more challenging transition into high school and puberty. Gabe is very smart, kind, and has a quirky sense of humor. He doesn’t always get everyone else’s humor, but it is lovely to see him developing his own. It has been very challenging, but he is really starting to come into his own and I can see him starting to take steps to be independent and to grow up.
“T” is my youngest (we will call her this as she is still a minor and we want to protect her privacy), she is 12 and started middle school last year. “T” has dyslexia and short-term memory challenges – which makes school challenging. She has overcome a very severe speech impairment – dyspraxia, which is now almost completely unnoticeable. She struggles with stress, and based upon characteristics that we see in Gabe, I am guessing that she is possibly ASD. She is smart, and very kind. She is my nurturer and extremely creative.
As you can see, we live with the whole alphabet in our home. We live with the highs and lows of all these challenges at school, work, and in our daily lives. We understand what you are going through, and we are building this company and this app to meet the needs of the neurodivergent community that are currently being ignored.
We are so glad that you found us and hope that you will join us in revolutionizing the neurospicy world!
