We didn't start NeuroLocker to build a startup.

We built it because we needed it.

The problem we couldn't ignore

There wasn’t a shortage of productivity apps. There wasn’t a shortage of calendars, to-do lists, reminders, or note-taking tools.

The problem was that almost all of them expected people to think, remember, and organize information the same way.

For people with executive function challenges, that often means working twice as hard just to keep up. Not because they aren’t capable, but because the tools designed to help them were never designed with their brains in mind.

We watched intelligent, creative, and incredibly determined people spend more energy trying to manage life than actually living it. We saw missed deadlines become labels of “lazy.” We saw forgotten assignments mistaken for a lack of effort. We saw parents carrying the mental load for entire families because there wasn’t another option.

And the more we looked, the more we realized this wasn’t happening in just our home.

It was happening in classrooms, colleges, workspaces, and households everywhere.

We couldn’t ignore that.

What people see vs what was actually happening

The story behind NeuroLocker

We knew something wasn’t working.

Like so many families, we tried everything.

Planners. Sticky notes. Calendars. Reminder apps. Color-coded systems. Every new strategy came with the hope that this one would finally be the answer.

Some things helped for a little while. Most created more work than they solved.

We eventually realized the problem wasn’t a lack of effort or organization – it was that every tool expected people to think, remember, and process information the same way.

Our family lives with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, OCPD, and executive function challenges. Every day, we experienced firsthand how exhausting it can be to navigate systems that weren’t designed with those differences in mind.

We knew the problem wasn’t effort.

The turning point didn’t come from finding a better planner or another productivity app.

It came from changing the question we were asking.

For years, we looked for ways to become more organized, more consistent, and more productive. But eventually we realized we weren’t struggling because we weren’t trying hard enough. We were struggling because we were trying to fit neurodivergent brains into systems that were never designed for them.

That realization changed everything.

Instead of asking, “How do we help people work harder?” we started asking, “How do we build technology that works differently?”

Watch our story about why we built NeuroLocker.

So we built NeuroLocker.

We stopped asking why the right tool didn’t exist.

Instead, we asked what it would look like if it were built by people who actually lived these experiences every day.

Every major feature in NeuroLocker exists because it solves a real challenge our family has faced or one we’ve heard again and again from our community. From capturing information before it’s forgotten, to breaking overwhelming tasks into manageable steps, every decision starts with the same question: Would this have made life easier for us?

NeuroLocker isn’t just the product we wanted to build.

It’s the tool we wish we’d had years ago – and we’re committed to making it even better for every person who sees themselves in this story.

What we believe

what we believe

These beliefs shape every decision we make – from the conversations we have with our community to every feature we build inside NeuroLocker.

The future we're building

NeuroLocker began with one family trying to solve a problem they lived every day. Today, our purpose has grown beyond a single app. Everything we build is guided by our mission, our vision, and the impact we hope to create far beyond NeuroLocker itself.

Today

Our mission is to create an accessible, user-friendly platform that provides practical executive function support, adaptive tools, and a supportive community – helping users feel less overwhelmed, more capable, and more confident navigating school, work, and daily life.

Tomorrow

We envision a world where neurodivergent teens, young adults, and adults no longer have to fight their brains to succeed – where technology adapts to them, independence is supported, and lived experience drives innovation across school, work, and daily life.

Beyond NeuroLocker

NeuroLocker was never meant to be just another productivity app.

We’re building a future where executive function support is understood, accessible, and available throughout every stage of life – not just in school, but at home, at work, and in the moments that matter most.

We believe technology is only part of that future. Through education, advocacy, partnerships, and community, we hope to help create a world where neurodivergent people are supported, understood, and empowered to thrive.

Join the journey

NeuroLocker is built by people who believe technology should adapt to the people using it – not the other way around.

We’re always looking to connect with families, educators, organizations, advocates, and partners who share that vision.
